Margaret’s Cottage is an end of terrace farm cottage surrounded by countryside. Margaret’s Cottage was one of three cottages owned by Rookery Farm , where the owner grew up. These cottages were to provide homes for the farm labourers and Margaret’s the second largest, was for the Farm Foreman and the biggest cottage, Norah’s Cottage at the other end was for the Farm Manager with the smallest cottage in the middle being for the Cowman- you could never be late for work! These cottages date back to the 1890’s and Margaret’s Cottage is ideal for a peaceful, rural holiday but still is close enough to lots of amenities and family entertainment.
There are super walks from Margaret’s with access onto Weavers Way and Hickling Broad, ideal for Birdwatching . Only six miles away is the beautiful sandy blue flag beach at Sea Palling. And less than a mile away is Potter Heigham, one of the main boating centres on the Norfolk Broads. Picnic, Day Boat, Canoe and Kayak hire can be arranged through me.
This cottage style home is comfortable and cosy and has a wonderful outdoor space. With a choice of places to be in the garden, you may spot a Swallow Tail Butterfly and you can watch the sunset over the fields.

Arrival & Parking
Parking is available in the private drive. There is hard path through the front garden to access the front door.
There is a key box, the details of which will be sent to you before your stay.
Living Room/Dining Area
As you enter Margaret’s Cottage through the porch, with space for hanging coats and a shelf for shoes, you will find a cosy carpeted lounge area.

Kitchen
You will find the well equipped kitchen off the living room near the front door. There is also access from the back door.

Bedroom 1
The double bedroom is on the first floor with fantastic views of Rural Norfolk Farm Land. Watch out for the herds of deer and birds such as a barn owl that are often spotted from the window. There is a standard wooden double bed, with 2 bedside cabinets with drawers and lamps, a fitted wardrobe, a chest of drawers and a mirror.
Bedroom 2
This double bedroom is on the first floor with fantastic views of the garden. It is another great place to spot the regular birdlife that visits the cottage garden. There is a standard double bed, bedside cabinets with drawers and lamps, a fitted wardrobe, chest of drawers, a chair and a mirror.
Bedroom 3
This single bedroom is on the first floor with fantastic views of the garden. There is a small single bed, a small chest of drawers with a lamp, a desk with drawers and a mirror, and a clothes hanging space.
Bathroom
The good sized bathroom on the ground floor just off the kitchen near the back door. It consists of a bath with shower over, a sink and toilet.
Shower Room
The shower room is located on the first floor. It has a shower cubicle with electric shower, sink, toilet and storage unit.
Outside Space
Margaret’s has a large Cottage Garden, which wraps around the cottage from front to back.
There is a bench at the back to relax and take in the wonderful views of fields. In the front garden there is a picnic bench and love seat. You will also find a Gas BBQ in peak season.
You are welcome to pick herbs from the kitchen garden. The cottage and garden is personally managed by the owner and is maintained to a high standard.

ACCESSIBILITY
From the Car Parking Space to the Cottage is all flat, with gravel on the drive and hard stone footpath through the garden. There is a small step into the Cottage. There is 1 step from the kitchen into the back porch and downstairs bathroom. All the bedrooms and shower room are on the first floor which is accessed by stairs.
Weekly bookings at Margaret’s Cottage are all year round and start on a Friday (subject to availability).
